Today, we join millions around the world in celebrating World Environment Day. This day is a reminder of the incredible natural world that surrounds us and the intricate web of life that we are all a part of.

We are proud to highlight the work of our dedicated experts. Their research, fieldwork, and community engagement are driving positive change and inspiring others to join the cause. Through their efforts, we have witnessed remarkable success stories that showcase the impact of committed conservation work.

“Nature is always attractive to me, specifically forests, hills and streams running through it. I gradually developed my passion towards nature while exploring multiple forest ecosystem through adventurous treks and picnics. But the moment that inspire me to dive deep into the environmental conservation is when I met and interviewed local forest dwellers, the traditional practitioners during my research for sacred groves. The vast knowledge about the nature they have inspire me to learn and observe more about the nature. These natural landscapes are full of mysteries and every time I explore, I learn new things.”

“I was about ten years old, exploring the forest near my home, when I stumbled upon a bird’s nest with several tiny, chirping chicks. Watching the mother bird diligently care for her young struck a chord within me. I realized the delicate balance of nature and how crucial it is to protect these creatures and their habitats. This profound experience ignited a lifelong commitment to environmental conservation.

Growing up in a village situated in the heart of a forest, I always felt a strong connection to the natural world. The sounds of the forest, the sight of wildlife, and the changing seasons became an integral part of my life. This close bond with nature nurtured my passion and eventually guided me toward a career dedicated to preserving the environment”

Coexistence and Interdependency

At the heart of our mission is the celebration of coexistence. Every species, no matter how small, plays a crucial role in maintaining the balance of our ecosystems. By valuing interdependency, we recognize the importance of each organism in sustaining life on Earth.

“When we were in 7th or 8th grade, a few friends and I started planting trees using seed balls. This small initiative aimed to rejuvenate the local landscape and create a healthier environment.

As we grew older, our passion for conservation evolved. By the time we were in 10th to 12th grade, we formed a group called Youth Foundation. Our group focused on organizing and executing various environmental activities. We conducted plantation programs, raising thousands of saplings in deforested areas, and awareness programs, educating the local community about the importance of environmental conservation.”

Global Efforts and Local Impact

Around the globe, countless initiatives are making strides in conservation and sustainability. From reforestation projects to marine protection efforts, these actions are essential in preserving our planet. Our experts are on the front lines of these efforts, working tirelessly to promote biodiversity and sustainable practices.

“I’m involved in a project aimed at stabilizing the coastline by planting mangroves along the Gujarat coastline. There are numerous challenges such as environmental instability, but despite these obstacles, I managed to achieve over 500 hectares of plantation last year. These mangroves are serving as a bio wall in Surat and Kutch districts of Gujarat.”

“Catlleshed modification to make it predator proof in Kaziranga landscape is one of my favorite project. It not only protected livestock in about 300 household but also from the tiger but also eliminated antagonistic attitude towards tiger in the study area.”

Effort Ahead

While we celebrate our achievements and the progress made, it is crucial to acknowledge that much work remains to be done to reach our targets. Biodiversity loss continues at an alarming rate, driven by habitat destruction, climate change, pollution, and overexploitation of natural resources.

“The most pressing environmental issue today is biodiversity loss due to rapid climate change. This crisis affects ecosystems, wildlife, and human communities worldwide. To address it effectively, individuals can reduce their carbon footprints by adopting sustainable practices like using renewable energy, reducing waste, and supporting conservation efforts. Organizations can implement green policies, invest in sustainable technologies, and advocate for stronger environmental regulations. Collective action is essential to mitigate climate change and protect biodiversity for future generations.”

“The most urgent environmental issue is the contribution of air conditioners to global warming and the unsustainable disposal of plastics. Individuals and organizations can tackle this by promoting energy-efficient cooling options, reducing plastic use, and implementing recycling initiatives. Increasing awareness about these issues is key to inspiring collective action for a sustainable future”
